The next City of Auburn regular municipal election is scheduled for August 25, 2026. Find important dates and deadlines regarding this election on the election schedule.
Please note that county, state and federal elections are administered by Lee County and not the City of Auburn.
Candidate Resources
Qualifying begins June 9 and ends June 23 at 5 p.m. Statements of Candidacy will be available during this time at City Hall, which is located at 144 Tichenor Ave. City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Candidate Qualifications
To run for mayor or a seat on the City Council, candidates must be at least 18 years old and:
- Have lived in Auburn for 90 days prior to election.
- (For Council) Have lived in the district for 90 days prior to election.
- Be a U.S. Citizen.
- Be a registered voter.

The voter registration deadline for the 2026 Municipal Election is August 10, 2026. Register to vote at alabamavotes.gov or check your voter registration at myinfo.alabamavotes.gov/voterview.
